PARAGRAPH : MY COUNTRY
The name ‘country’ is very sweet to all. The full name of my country is The People’s Republic of Bangladesh . Bangladesh is in the south-east Asia. The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. The country is bordered by India in west, north and east and it has a small border with Myanmar (Burma) in south east. We gained independence from Pakistan in 1971. Many brave sons of the country sacrificed blood to save the country. Bangladesh is a very beautiful land. The natural scenery of our country is very charming. There are many green fields and trees in our country. There are about 68 thousand villages in our country. Most of the villagers are farmers. They live on agriculture. They are very simple in their lifestyle. They are very friendly also. We have many rivers here. The three main rivers of Bangladesh are the Padma, the Meghna and the Jamuna. These rivers have made our country more beautiful. From these rivers, we get food and energy. We have many historical places to visit. Some of the places are World Heritage Sites. In Bangladesh, we have three World Heritage Sites- The Shat Gambuj Mosque at Bagerhat, The Buddhist Bihar at Paharpur and the Sunderbans. These world heritage sites have made our country familiar in the world. Every year, many foreigners come to visit these sites. We have our own tradition and culture. Most of the people of our country are Muslims. The people of other religions also live here. Our mother tongue is Bangla. Recently, UNESCO has declared 21st February as The International Mother Language Day. I am really proud of being born in Bangladesh.
